The third novel by Ms Salma Awan was published in 1969. “ZARGHOONA” (The name of the heroine) is the daughter of a courtesan from Lahore. She revolts against her social customs and norms. It’s a very interesting novel exhuming the customs, traditions and culture of a segment of society considered immoral delving into subjects considered taboo in the Pakistani society.
